Needs analysis

In this group project, we conducted a comprehensive needs assessment to develop an effective instructional design solution. Using a short text as our starting point, we analyzed gaps in knowledge, skills, and performance within a specific instructional context.

A Need for Instruction

Firstly, we began our process with a learner analysis, identifying our target audience, their characteristics, learning needs, and potential barriers to learning. We turned this information into a detailed learner profile to guide instructional decisions.

Next, we performed a goal analysis, breaking down broad instructional goals into subgoals, identifying learning domains, and creating a method of assessment. We also validated our objectives with stakeholders to ensure targeted and effective learning outcomes.

Then we conducted a task analysis, breaking down complex skills and processes into smaller, sequential steps to identify the required knowledge, skills, and strategies for successful learning. Ultimately, we determined the need for instruction by identifying clear performance gaps, and finding measurable objectives that could be reached.
