Learning & Development Newsletter
As a Summer Analyst Student with the Learning and Development team at the City of Calgary, I was responsible for designing and developing the Summer 2025 edition of the internal Learning Newsletter.
Importance of Feedback
The topic that my team and I chose for the summer edition was how to effectively seek, receive, and give feedback, focusing on professional development. To gather information, I attended an internal continuing education course on giving, receiving, and seeking feedback. This set the tone for the newsletter, and I gathered additional resources to add to the piece, like a podcast episode, and an internal eLearning course. Additionally, I collaborated with a colleague to highlight additional learning focused on Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity in honor of Calgary Pride.
I used Canva to design this newsletter, and my contribution demonstrates how I am able to combine writing, resource curation, and visual layout to support learning in a practical, user-friendly way.
This newsletter was distributed across the whole Recreation and Social Programs Business Unit, totalling to over 4000 recipients. The goal was to create an engaging, informative, and accessible digital product that promotes continuous learning within the organization.
